Testimonials

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bonnie and all of staff at CAHT for all the work that they all have done for our community.

The donation of backpacks has been a tremendous blessing for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Re-entry Program, Child Protective Investigations Division and Special Investigations Division Units/Human Trafficking Team.

Your donations have made a huge impact for our ladies that have been released from the Jail. They can go to the Re-entry building across the street from Orient Jail and receive a backpack filled with clothes and toiletries, to them it demonstrates that people do care.

For CPID, your backpacks have been a tremendous blessing for our teenage girls that have had to be removed from their homes, some come in without nothing but thank God when they are moved to Foster Care, they are able to take those backpacks with them.

The Human Trafficking Units, with your donations the Deputies can have them in the trunk of their vehicles so when the need arises, they’re able to give it to victims of Human Trafficking.

Thank you for making a difference in our community fighting against Human Trafficking.

God bless you for all your Love and Dedication.

Selah Freedom is a nonprofit organization with programs based in Florida and the Midwest, with the mission to end sex trafficking and bring freedom to the exploited through four strong programs: Awareness, Prevention, Outreach, and Residential.

It is with great pleasure to write about the lasting impact receiving a backpack with a new outfit, journal, and toiletries has on a new survivor entering our program. Campaign Against Human Trafficking – Southshore is helping us welcome the survivor home, provide essentials to serve them, and redefine what love is by showing this act of kindness. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with CAHT for the last five years, providing our intake supplies, fostering healthy relationships with the survivors through volunteering, so many ways Campaign Against Trafficking – Southshore enriches the survivors’ lives!

We can not do this work without you and your support!

Bonnie, I wanted to thank you and the members of the CAHT for the back packs. We are already putting them to good use. Thank you.

We have so many needs when we serve our survivors. Many come to us with only the clothes on their back. The intake back packs that you have provided over the years have been a tremendous blessing. Not only does it provide essential needs, but it also sends a powerful message that they are loved and cared for after experiencing horrific abuse.

I had a survivor once ask me, “Why do they care? They don’t even know me.” My reply was, “They couldn’t be there to stop what happened to you, but they are doing their part now to help you and let you know that you matter to them.”

Selah depends on loving people like you to help us care for the survivors. You have given Christmas gifts and Easter baskets too. When they receive the gifts, we get a peek of that little 10 year old child that still lives inside of them, who is delighted that she has a surprise waiting for her. Thank you for giving back the moments of missed childhood to them too.

You are an amazing organization that cares about the people who need a 2nd chance in life to make their dreams come true. Always grateful for each one of you.

Thank you CAHT for feeding our house. No one will starve, not even a mouse.

My name is Jaeda. It gives me great joy to be able to write you this email. The past month has been one of the most struggling times of my life due to the pandemic going on. I was working 3 jobs. Denny’s, Ihop and Steak n’ Shake. I went from working almost everyday to not having a single job within a week. Two of my jobs, Ihop & Denny’s , closed days apart. Steak n’ shake on the other hand just cut my hours for a few days and then laid me off. With this sudden drop of income I wasn’t able to stay afloat with all my bills and caring for my puppy. When everything hit at once, had no choice but sleep in my car. Which I won’t lie, wasn’t as bad as it seems but I knew it was unfair for my puppy if nothing else.
I started doordashing, driving instacart for publix and uber eats. There seemed to be a way out but one day I went to the gas station, in a hurry I pulled over the curb parking and when I reversed, I messed up my radiator.
I slept outside of the gas station for one night and then the next morning i filled my radiator all the way up with water and drove to a park 2 mins away thinking i could sleep there but daily cops would come up and tell me I couldn’t because of the stay home affect that was in place.
I reached out to pace center for girls because I had nowhere else to go but I knew of all people they would have my back and be my support system. Pace provided me with 2 hotel nights and little did I know, I would be connected with your organization, CAHT. I can be nothing but grateful for the support and things you have done for me. Ms. Annie is an angel so is Robbie!  She has supported me every step of the way in anyway that she could. From purchasing multiple nights for my hotel stay and gift cards for gas and food. Robbie brought me gift cards so I could eat.
She has also been a listening ear, giving me advice to make a plan of action to get my life back on the right track. I haven’t met many people in my life that have been as caring, warm-hearted and joyful as Ms. Annie has during this journey with me.
I am forever grateful for your support as I have gained so much from this and I wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you! Your organization and every single person that helps it function! I appreciate you and I hope that one day I am able to thank each and everyone one of you in person and pay it forward.
My next move is to visit my grandmother in Orlando, Fl and then head to paternal grandmother in Atlanta, Ga for a fresh start. Wish you the best as you keep the world turning.
