It is an underrated Crime

- Every year, 33% of women and 25% of men fall victims
- In the US as many as 24 people a minute become the victims of stalking, physical attack, emotional abuse and/or sexual assault.
–That makes up to 12 million victims per year - Abuse can be physical, sexual, mental, financial, or technological
- Victims of intimate partner violence lose a total of 8.0 million days of paid work each year
- The cost of intimate partner violence exceeds $8.3 billion per year
It is difficult to escape a domestic violence situation, because changing the status quo often makes things worse before they get better. Fear for the children, anger, fear of physical violence, and lack of financial resources are all difficult factors in any decision.
