CAHT January 18th General Meeting – The Grooming of Our Youth
Campaign Against Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence, known as CAHT, will have a special speaker for their January 18 general meeting. January is National Human Trafficking month and CAHT has invited Dotti Groover-Skipper, a nationally known advocate in promoting anti-human trafficking programs. She is one of Tampa Bay’s leaders in organizing and supporting various area anti-human trafficking nonprofits, and since 2014 she has been appointed to serve on the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking and recently appointed by Governor DeSantis to the Florida Drug Policy Advisory Council. Mrs. Groover-Skipper founded the HeartDance Foundation, which serves men, women and children engaged in the sex industry and exploited through labor or sex trafficking.
Mrs. Groover-Skipper’s topic is The Grooming of Our Youth. This eye-opening presentation will enable those attending to understand the “pipeline process” of how our youth are lured, groomed, and sold, and what each of us can do to help prevent this activity as well as recognizing the signs and report any suspicious activity.
CAHT meeting on January 18th will be a zoom meeting, starting at 1 pm. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to past president, Annie Garrison at firstname.lastname@example.org. A link will also be posted on CAHT’s web page a week before the meeting: www.sccblueheart.org. Meetings are free and open to the public.
